Single-channel cut-only equaliser from EQ specialists White. The 4220 is a very rare passive EQ with. It has nine EQ bands at octave centres from 63 Hz to 16 kHz
This is a passive (unpowered) EQ with the most minimal signal path I’ve ever seen – it has nine LCR filters in series and that’s it. Inputs & outputs are on jack sockets & terminal strip and there’s provision for a plugin band-splitting filter on the back panel
In use the 4220 is as smooth and as buttery as you might imagine from such a simple equaliser. The lack of boost forces you to work with cuts only and work strategically
