AKAI M8 Valve Preamp

Description

I have an Akai M8 preamp in prep. More info to follow

AKAI was one of the first Japanese manufacturers to offer domestic tape recorders and the M8 gained a big reputation as a fine-sounding machine. The machine had two valve amplifier blocks which served as record and playback amplifiers and these are the basis of these preamplifiers

The preamps will be racked in individual 3U boxes and each will have transformer balanced mic, line and DI inputs &¬†outputs. The tone controls of the original amps will be retained. They’ll have switchable 48 Volt phantom power and enough gain for most recording purposes
