Boutique valve compressor hand-built in New York by Anthony DeMaria. It’s based on the design of the LA-2A but sounds somewhat different. It’s a super-smooth compressor with the usual opto slow attack & release though the time constants are a little faster than the LA-2A. Anthony DeMaria is responsive and helpful with repairs & modifications making the ADL 1000 a good investment for your compressor rack
Like the LA-2A, the ADL 1000 uses an optical gain reduction element and valve circuitry. This means the overall sound is refined and never harsh. Attack & release times are fixed and compression ratio depends on threshold & signal level
