The UREI 1176 is one of the best-loved compressors in the world and numerous clone & reproduction versions are available. This kit, from French company Mic and Mod, uses an Mnats PCB and includes many of the key electronic components to build a replica of an 1176
From the list of parts included, and the Bill of Materials (BOM) on the Mnats website, you can work out what’s needed to complete the project
The kit includes:
- PCB (Mnats Rev D 1176 board V2.2)
- Matched FETs (for compression & metering)
- Input transformer (VT-012, Vintage Electronics}
- Output transformer (VT-5002, Vintage Electronics, clone of original UREI transformer)
- Power transformer (toroidal transformer, 110 / 220 Volt)
- Power IEC socket
- Original-style VU meter & mounting bezel
- Potentiometers
- Control knobs
- Switch banks with PCBs
- XLR connectors
- Various mounting hardware
Partial kit to assemble an 1176-Style compressor. Assembly and additional parts required. Suitable for competent DIYers. Plenty of help with kit builds is available online on sites such as groupdiy.com
The unit has transformer-balanced input & output on XLR connectors. Power is 110 / 220 Volt and power input is via a standard IEC socket. UK or Euro Schuko power cable supplied on request
