This is a characterful equaliser from a very unlikely manufacturer. It’s a Class-A, 5-band, inductor-based stereo equaliser with individual controls for each channel
The equaliser uses minimalist audiophile circuitry utilising classic transistor circuitry. There are no integrated circuits in the signal path. It has a 43-volt supply rail – classic Neve circuits use only 24 volts – to give maximum dynamic range & an output capability of 9 volts before clipping. EQ & output resistors were hand-chosen for accuracy
If you think the technical spec is unusual, wait till you hear the Stereo Frequency Equaliser. It sounds spectacular, larger than life, exactly as you wish an equaliser might sound. It comes as a complete shock bearing in mind the appearance
This equaliser is ripe for modification. Transformer-balanced inputs & outputs would be useful, as would XLR connectors. Email for details
Good used condition. 110 V AC – will require a transformer for use in the UK. Some chips to the plasto-vinyl regurgitated chipboard faux antique wood-finish high-end machine-stamped, plastic-finished walnut-grained vinyl veneer. I have replacement knobs arriving soon
