Description

Late-model Roland rack synth / rompler, a direct descendant of the JV range. The XV-5050 is more compact and more modern with USB midi, SRX expansion slots and dedicated editor software from Roland and third-parties like MidiQuest

The XV-5050 updates the Roland style with a silver, brushed aluminium front panel and slimmer 1U package. It has SP/DIF outputs and USB midi as well as DIN-style midi connections There are two stereo outputs and ninety studio-quality onboard effects and two SRX expansion slots but no slots for the original SR-JV80 expansion boards

The main differences between the JV-880, JV-1080, JV-2080. XV-3080, XV-5080 and XV-5050 are summarised below

The XV-5050 is 16-part multitimbral, 64 voice polyphonic and has 1024 built-in patches and 84 performances.  It has two SRX expansion card slots

Two stereo pairs of outputs are provided on jack sockets, and the front panel headphone socket has a volume control with the usual "push-to-preview" feature which plays the currently-selected sound when pressed
