Based on a Decca design, the Broadhurst Gardens BG1 preamp has a big reputation as a super-clean mic pre. It’s a compact unit, well-suited to mobile or location use, housed in a tough extruded aluminium case
One end has two XLR mic inputs and an IEC power socket. The other end has two XLR outputs, high-pass filter switches (off / 22 / 33 / 68 Hz), 48Volt phantom power & polarity switches, 26 dB pad and a stepped gain control covering 26 – 59 dB gain in accurate 3 dB steps. Finally there are -3dB and overload LEDs
