Aphex Dominator

The Dominator is a clever, sophisticated dynamic controller with no obvious rivals

It’s a multiband peak limiter with a “Peak Ceiling” presettable output limiter. Like all Aphex gear it’s a very transparent device. Push the input gain hard enough and limiting is very obvious but, at saner settings,  it does a great job of reining in levels transparently. It combines a peak limiter and slower gain reduction action and the Density control manages the balance between the two

Add in the two band approach – with EQ for each band – and variable release time, and the Dominator can be set to give clean limiting or used to pull & push transients within a track
