Rare & characterful Inovonics 201 dual-slope compressor / limiter. This is a late-70s design and has all the punch & power you might expect

It combines an average (RMS) response limiter and a peak ceiling limiter in one box, with attack & release settings on the peak section. It’s a little like the rare Barth Dynaset in concept but it’s a much more brutal, colour compressor than the Barth

The 201 repays experimentation & gives results you’d struggle to achieve with any other compressor. If you want to add some colour to your compressor rack, this is a great option
