Rare & vintage Evans Echopet EP-250, refurbished in our workshops
The EP250 is an analogue reverb / echo combining analogue delay and spring reverb in one unit. The delay section is similar to that in the EP-100. The EP-250 was also sold as the Rolling REC-4
The EP250 uses Bucket Brigade Devices (BBD) rather than later digital technology. BBD devices had a short lifespan, as digital gear took over rapidly, but are sought-after for their sound
The addition of a spring reverb makes for a unit with lots of character, still happy to be overdriven & pushed into continuous feedback, but now with boingy spring tones as well

The EP-250 has mic & instrument inputs that mix to feed the 2-band EQ section. From there there is a Reverb level control and echo & repeat controls for the delay section. Delay time & feedback are continuously variable – a great feature when playing with feedback!
It’s possible to get the Echopet to feed back continuously and it does that trick without going into gross distortion. Sweeping the delay time pitch-shifts the feedback giving some excellent swooping delays which change in character as the high-end rolls off. It’s a great effect that can’t be replicated with other delays
