Description
Neat rackmount spring reverb from Vesta Fire. The RV-1 uses two twin reverb springs to give a nice, dense reverb tail. The adjustable limiter allows the spring to be driven harder without distortion and, when set to maximum, gives a denser tail with minimal attack. It’s an unusual effect but very usable. The onboard parametric equaliser allows subtle tailoring of the frequency response – or mad, dub-style sweeping EQ peaks which can be played in real time
The “stereo” output has two out-of-phase outputs which may or may not be useful, depending if you’re using the spring live or for recording. The mix / wet switch is a useful addition, cutting the dry signal at the output
The RV-1 is far more characterful than most spring reverbs and I can see it becoming a sought-after item. Lots of fun to use, and capable of subtle spring reverbs and mad dub effects, it’s a great vintage piece
