Studio Electronics started off rack-mounting classic synths like the Prophet 5 and Minimoog. That led to them creating their own rackmount Minimoog clone / homage, the SE-1, a close recreation of the original model D but wth midi, patch memories and other updates

The Red Eye is one of their later versions with snappier envelopes, switchable distortion circuit and other upgrades. It also has the unique Red Eye look which is way more striking than the original black SE-1
