The Fatso is one of the best pieces of modern outboard I’ve come across. It post-dates the Distressor, and inherits some ideas from it, but it’s different in two key ways: firstly, it’s designed primarily for saturation and, secondly, it’s a dual-mono, two-channel unit

The Fatso is great for stereo bus, perfect for drum bus and a great Swiss-Army unit for saturating, warming & compressing any kind of signal. The two channels have separate controls, and are linkable for stereo operation

Once you’ve had one of these you’ll find it hard to live without. There are other tools out there that will do some of the jobs the Fatso will do but, combined into a neat 1U package like this, I think it’s a no-brainer
