Back in stock: I have three Dolby 361s with modified “Dolby Trick” cards ready to ship. These have a Cat.22 Dolby A card modified to process only the top two frequency bands
These are perfect for brightening tracks without making them harsh. Use them on an insert or on a send so it’s easier to find the right balance of original sound & effect
These Dolby 361 units date from the 1970s or 80s. They have transformers on the inputs & outputs and processing is done via a plug-in card. The cards have all-discrete, Class A circuitry which splits the signal into four frequency bands for processing
The original Cat.22 cards were for Dolby A encoding & decoding but Dolby produced many different versions for film sound playback, encoding for tape duplication and, later, for Dolby SR noise reduction
I have a hardware setup guide for the Dolby Trick here
