Rackmount filter unit from Electrix. The Filter Factory is what you’d get if you took a modular synth filter, coupled it to an LFO, tap-tempo generator and an envelope follower, then added a distortion section. Electrix also fitted separate CV L and R inputs for the filter frequency, equipped it with real-time midi control and built it into one of their trademark slope-front rackmount / desktop aluminium boxes
The Filter Factory is stereo in & out and has a very useful effect mix pot to set the balance between dry & filtered signal. Real-time midi means all controls send & receive midi messages so controls can be recorded, edited, sequenced and / or played in real time
Sadly, Electrix the company is no more, but their products live on – including the Filter Factory, Warp Factory Vocoder and Mo-FX Synchronised Stereo Effects unitÂ
